To a mixture of tert-butyl N-(4-piperidyl)carbamate (5.00 g, 24.97 mmol) and l-(bromomethyl)- 4-nitro-benzene (5.39 g, 24.97 mmol) in ACN (25 mL) was added K₂C0₃ (6.90 g, 49.94 mmol) at 25 °C, The mixture was stirred for 12 h. The mixture was poured into water, extracted with EA, and the organic phase was washed with saturated brine, dried with anhydrous Na₂S0₄, and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel to afford the title compound (7.50 g, 89.5%) as a white solid.
