Steps:

2.2.2 Synthesis of 2-amino 4,6-diarylpyrimidines catalysed by nanoTiO₂

General procedure: Initially chalcones were synthesised by reported procedure [41]. Guanidine (1mmol) was treated with the chalcone component (1mmol) in presence of TiO₂ nanoparticles (1mol%, 3.33mg) in ethanol under UV irradiation at λ_max 365nm for 20min. The catalyst was then filtered off and the solution was poured into ice cold water (30ml). The crude solid product was collected by filtration and recrystallized from ethanol to afford the pure product.
