Intermediate 2 was added to a suspension of Pd/C 10% (1 g) MeOH (150 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere. The r.m. was stirred at 25 °C under hydrogen atmosphere. After uptake of H₂ (1 eq), the catalyst was filtered off over diatomaceous earth. The filtrate was evaporated. Yield: 2.6 g of intermediate 3 (94 %).
