Steps:
Synthesis of 5-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy flavones 3a-3d.
General procedure: To a solution of 1a-1g (5 mmol) in anhydrous acetonitrile was added aluminium chloride (10mmol). The mixture was heated at 60 for 1h, then added 10% HCl (aq.) (10mL), and refluxed for 1h. The solution was poured into ice-water, filtrated; the residue was recrystallized from ethanol to afforded light yellow compounds.
