Reaction Conditions:

with hydrazine hydrate monohydrate in ethanol;Reflux;

Steps:

4.3.2. General procedure for the synthesis of hydrazides from corresponding esters (Procedure A)

General procedure: Ester (1 eq) and N2H2.H2O (5 eq) were solubilized in EtOH (5 mL/mmol). The resulting mixture was refluxed 18-24 h. The reaction was monitored by TLC (CH2Cl2/MeOH, 95/5) and LCMS. Solvents were removed under reduced pressure and crude products were extracted with CH2Cl2 or ethyl acetate. The combined organics werewashed with saturated Na2CO3 aqueous solution, and dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure to give the desired hydrazide.
