The compound 2-bromo-1-cyclopropylethanone (12.0 g, 74.1 mmol) and formamidine acetate (23.1 g, 222.3 mmol) were dissolved in 100 mL of ethylene glycol and reacted at 110 ° C for 15 hours. After the reaction was completed, 500 mL of water was added, and the mixture was washed three times with dichloromethane (500 mL×3), then the aqueous phase was adjusted to pH 8 with a 1 M aqueous NaOH solution, and the aqueous phase was extracted twice with dichloromethane (500 mL×2), organic phase was dried and concentrated to give the desired product 7.5g, yield 93.7%.
