Steps:

Various fluoro- and chloro-substituted aryl bromides are readily converted into the corresponding magnesium reagents at room temperature using i-PrMgCl·LiCl. The conversion is completed without 0.5-3h which is in strong contrast with the previous procedure involving i-PrMgCl or i-Pr2Mg (Scheme 2).
