3 Synthesis of p-phenoxyphenol
In a 10 mL round bottom flask, p-benzoquinone (0.108 g, 1.0 mmol), phenylboronic acid (0.146 g, 1.2 mmol), copper ferrite (0.0120 g, 0.05 mmol), and 2 mL of methanol were added as solvents, and the reaction was carried out at room temperature for 24 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure, washed with deionized water (10 mL), extracted with dichloromethane (3×10 mL),The organic phases are combined, washed with saturated sodium chloride solution, dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered with suction, and the filtrate is spin-dried to obtain a crude product. Purified and separated by column chromatography to obtain 160.1 mg of white solid with a yield of 86%.
