7synthesis methods
-

Yield:90925-43-2 87%

Reaction Conditions:

with methanol;sodium tetrahydroborate at 20; for 1 h;Inert atmosphere;

Steps:

Synthetic procedure 2: reduction of the aldehyde

General procedure: NaBH4 (1.1 mmol) was added to the alkoxy benzyl aldehyde (1.0 mmol) in methanol (5.0 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere. The reaction was stirred for 1 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and water (20 mL) was added. The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (3×20 mL). The combined organic layers were dried with MgSO4, filtered and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure.
