Direct coupling of aryl halides with alkoxides and aryloxides was investigated by using Ni-plm catalyst B using similar reaction conditions as C-S coupling. High activities of Ni-plm catalyst B towards coupling aryl halides with all primary, secondary and tertiary alkoxides to form the associated esters were observed (Table 2) . Activities are considered relative to other comparative catalysts. Good yields with less than 1% catalyst loading is considered as high activity.
