4.1.3. General procedure for the synthesis of 5-(3-chlorophenyl)-4-substituted-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones (12-22)
General procedure: Suitable substituted thiosemicarbazides (1-11) (0.01 mol) were dissolved in 2% solution of sodium hydroxide and the resulting solution was heated under reflux for 2 h. After cooling, the mixture was neutralized with 3M hydrochloric acid. The precipitate formed was filtered and washed several times with distilled water. The compounds were crystallized from EtOH.
