2.5. Reduction (Procedure E)

General procedure: To a solution of ketone in MeOH was added NaBH₄ (1.0-10.0 equiv) at 0 °C. The reaction mixture was stirred for 30 min and quenched with H₂O. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc, and the organic layer was washed with brine, dried over MgSO₄, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel to afford the corresponding alcohol product.
