Example 23.1; 6-Butoxy-pyridin-3-ylamine. A mixture of 2-butoxy-5-nitro-pyridine (4.52 g, 23.04 mmol), palladium (on activated carbon, 150 mg) and ethanol was shaken under 20 atm of hydrogen for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered through Diatomaceous earth and concentrated to give 6-butoxy-pyridin- 3-ylamine (3.56 g, 93 %). GC/MS m/z 166, 123, 110, 93, 82, 54.
