Steps:

Add to a 50mL single-mouth bottle 4.26 g (30 mmol) of methyl 3-amino-1H-1,2,4-triazole-5-carboxylate, Slowly add 9.6 mL of 80% hydrazine hydrate. Stir the reaction at room temperature for 14 h, Filtered to give a white solid. Drying gave 3-amino-1H-1,2,4-triazole-5-carbohydrazide (yield 90%).
