Steps:
5.2 5-Chloro-1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine
5-Chloro-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine (4 g, 1 eq), benzenesulfonyl chloride (23.5 mL, 7 eq), dissolved in toluene (40 mL). g, 6 eq). The reaction was carried out at 10 degrees under argon overnight. Water and ethyl acetate were added, extracted, washed with saturated NaCl, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated. Purified by petroleum ether beating.7 g of a yellow powder of 5-chloro-1-(phenylphosphonoyl)-1H-pyrido[2,3-c]pyridine were obtained. Yield: 90%.
