Yield:-

Reaction Conditions:

with potassium carbonate in N,N-dimethyl-formamide at 90; for 2 h;

Steps:

General Procedure for O-alylation (Procedure 1f).

General procedure: To a mixture of 5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (1.0 equiv) and K2CO3 (2.0 equiv) in dimethylformamide, alkylbromide (2.0 equiv) was added. After stirring at 90 °C for 2 h, the mixture was quenched by water and extracted with EtOAc twice. The combined organic mixture was washed with water and brine, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo and the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography with hexane/EtOAc as eluent to afford a desired product.
