Step 3: (0541) To the product of step 2 (0.27 g, 1.3 mmol) in THF (2 mL) was added 2N LiOH(aq.) (1.9 mL, 3.9 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. The pH was adjusted to pH 4 using saturated aqueous citric acid. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated in vacuo to provide the carboxylic acid (0.23 g, 94%).
