Steps:
1 Preparation of 5-methoxy-1H-tetrazole
1 g (11.8 mmol) of 5-aminotetrazole and 2.5 ml (61.8 mmol) of methanol are mixed and 0.67 ml (11.9 mmol) of 95% sulfuric acid is added.The mixture was heated to 70 C & lt;And reacted for 6 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and then concentrated under reduced pressure. Then, the solution was dissolved in about 10 ml of water, and the pH was adjusted to 4 to 5 with 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. The resulting white solid was filtered. The filtrate was dried to obtain about 1.05 g of 5-methoxy-1H-tetrazole (yield 89%).
