Synthesis of 5-(thiophen-2-yl)thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (2)
A mixture of compound 1 (1 mmol,253 mg) and formamide (20 mL) was heated at 180 °C in oil bath for 2 h. The formed solid wascollected by filtration, washed with cold methanol, dried and crystallized from EtOH to give compound2.
