Steps:
3 2.2.3. Synthesis of (4-cyanobiphenyl-4′-oxy) hexyl acrylate (M6ACB)
4-(hexyloxy bromide)-4'-cyanobiphenyl, acrylic acid and KHCO3 were added in 300 mL DMF.
The reaction solvent was heated for 12 h.
Then the reaction solvent was cooled to room temperature.
The reaction solvent was poured into deionized water, and then was filtered.
At last, the crude products were purified by column chromatograph using CH2Cl2 as eluents.
The final product was a white solid powder. 1H NMR (δ, ppm, CDCl3):7.70-7.64 (dd, 4H, Ar-H), 7.53 (d, 2H, Ar-H), 6.99 (d, 2H, Ar-H), 6.42 (d, 1H, =CH2), 6.15 (m, 1H, =CH2), 5.83 (d, 1H, =CH2), 4.19 (m, 2H, -CH2-), 4.02 (m, 2H, -CH2-),1.84 (m, 2H, -CH2-), 1.74 (s, 2H, -CH2-), 1.55(dd, 4H, -CH2-).
Mass Spectrometry (MS) (m/z) [M] Calcd for C22H23NO3: 349; [M]found: 349.25, yield: 80%.
