4.2.2. Reaction type B (exemplarily for 2b)
General procedure: The reaction was performed according to a literature knownprocedure [20]. Stannous chloride dihydrate (5.6 g, 25 mmol) wasdissolved in concentrated HCl (32%, 30 mL) and cooled in anice/water bath. A solution of quinoline 2b (1.3 g, 6.2 mmol) inconcentrated HCl (32%, 12 mL) was added dropwise to the reactionsolution during 20 min under vigorous stirring and cooling. Theresulting mixture was continuously stirred for 60 min undercooling (< 5 C) and additionally for 3 h at room temperature. After adding water (200 mL) the solution was basified (pH = 14) with10 M NaOH,filtrated and the precipitate was washed with water.After drying, 3b was obtained as a colorless solid in 63% yield (0.7 g,3.9 mmol).
