3 Example 3: Synthesis of H3TATAB
Into a 2000ML four-necked flask, 63.10 g (0.50 mol) of melamine, 300 ml of acetone, 300 g of water and 90.10 g (0.85 mol) of sodium carbonate were charged and stirred at room temperature. 246.60 g (1.58 mol) of p-chlorobenzoic acid was dissolved in 300ml of acetone, and then dropped into the reactor at room temperature; in the dropwise addition procedure the temperature was gradually increased to reflux, the temperature was 100 ~ 105 ° C, and after the completion of dropwise addition the reaction was incubated for 5h. Sample detection, melamine residues amount was 0.05% (HPLC); added 500g water for dilution , freeze at 5 ° C for suction filtration, then filter residue was washed with water until its neutral, drained, and dried to give 235.54g (0.48mol) of a white solid H3TATAB, yield 96.84%.
