EXAMPLE 19 1,1'-[9,10-Anthrylenebis(methylidynenitrilo)]bis[1,3-dimethyl-guanidine] dihydroiodide A solution of 10.4 g. of N,N'-dimethylthiourea in 50 ml. of ethanol is treated with 14.5 g. of methyl iodide and heated under reflux for 70 minutes. The solution is filtered hot and cooled to give S-methyl-N,N'-dimethylisothiourea hydroiodide, m.p. 209°-212° C.
