EXAMPLE 1 Reactions were performed at 80 °C for 1 h and at a pressure of 3.9 bar. 1 mmol substrate was hydrogenated under the conditions described in Table 1 below. The amounts of catalysts were PtO₂ (30 mg), 10 % Pd/C (30 mg), Raney 2800 nickel (50 mg wet susp.). Solvent volume was 3.0 mL. The catalysts were filtered off and the mixtures were diluted with water to a final volume of 5.0 mL. Analysis by UPLC gave the molar yield for each of the compounds 5, 7, 6, and 3.
