11 4.3. Synthesis of 6-chloro-3-methyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b]pyridazine (4a)
General procedure: To a solution of 6-chloropyridazin-3-yl hydrazone (3a) (0.34g, 2mmol) in dichloromethane (25ml), IBD (0.70g, 2.2mmol) was added in small portions and the reaction mixture was stirred for 2-3 h or until the completion of reaction as monitored by TLC. Excess solvent was distilled off in vacuo, and the residual mass was triturated with petroleum ether to remove the excess of iodobenzene and a solid product separated out, which was recrystallized from aqueous ethanol to afford 4a.
