4.2. General procedures for the synthesis of intermediate 3

General procedure: To a mixture of acetophenone 2 (3.0 mmol) and different benzaldehyde(3.0 mmol) in ethanol (25 mL) was added 10% sodiumhydrate aqueous (5 mL), the mixture was stirred for 24 h at roomtemperature. The solution was acidified with 1 N HCl and filtered,and the filter cake was recrystallized from ethanol got 3 which wasused without further purification.
