Example 38 8-Methyladenosine (17i); A solution of 8-bromo-2',3',5'-tris-(0-tert- butyldimethylsilyl) adenosine (15a) (1.41 g, 2.26 mmol) and TBAF (2.37 g, 9.05 mmol) in THF (30 ml) was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was distilled off and the residual material subjected to flash chromatography on silica gel using 15 % MeOH in CH2Cl2; yield 0.59 g (93%).
