Intermediate 12; (3S, lR)- (-)-3-N-BOC-Aminocyclopentylmethyl methanesulfonate; Reaction of Intermediate 11 (6.5 g, 30.2 mmol) with methanesulfonyl chloride (3.8 g, 33. 18 mmol) in the presence of triethylamine (3.97 g, 39.2 mmol) in dry dichloromethane (100 ml) under nitrogen atmosphere as described in Intermediate 4 gave 8.5 g (96.5 %) of the product as a white solid.
