Reaction Conditions:

with hydroxylamine hydrochloride;sodium acetate in ethanol at 20; for 6 h;

Steps:

Synthesis of 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde oxime (2)

m-Hydroxybenzaldehyde (2.00 g, 16.38 mmol), hydroxylaminehydrochloride (1.37 g, 19.65 mmol) and sodiumacetate (1.74 g, 21.29 mmol) were added to 20 mL ethanolin sequence, and kept stirring for 6 h at room temperature.Then concentrated under reduced pressure andthe residue was extracted with anhydrous ether (15 mL)three times, washed with saturated brine and dried withanhydrous Na2SO4, finally filtered to provide the filtrate.The filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure toremove the solvent and obtain product 2 as a colorless oil,yield 96.3%.
