Steps:

Preparation of 4-amino-3-ethoxy-benzamide; Palladium on carbon (5 %, 0.510 g) was added into a solution of 3-ethoxy-4-nitro- benzamide (1.694 g, 8.06 mmol) and ammonium formate (2.17 g, 34.4 mmol) in MeOH (25 ml_) at ambient temperature. The solution was stirred for 1 hour, filtered through CeI ite and washed with MeOH. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo and triturated from diethyl ether to yield white solid (1.45 g, 100 %).¹H NMR (400 MHz; d₆-DMSO; 25 ^°C): 8.45 (s, 1 H), 7.62 (br s, 1 H), 7.30- 7.34 (m, 2H), 6.92 (br s, 1 H), 6.62 (d, 1 H), 5.24 (br s, 2H), 4.06 (q, 2H), 1.39 (t, 3H).
