A solution of 1,3,5-tribenzyl-1,3,5-triazinane (10.3 g, 28.81 mmol, 1.00 equiv) and BF3.Et2O (12.27 g, 86.43 mmol, 3.00 equiv) in DCM (100 mL) was stirred for 3h at 45 degrees C under nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting mixture was concentrated under vacuum. This resulted in benzyl(methylidene)amine (11.5 g, 334.95%) as a yellow oil. LC-MS: (M+H)+ found: 119
