EXAMPLE 35 1-(1-Aminomethylcyclohexyl) piperidine 1-(1-cyanocyclohexyl) piperidine (1.92 g. 0.01 mole) was dissolved in dry ether (50 ml) and added dropwise to a stirred suspension of LiAlH₄ (0.76 g. 0.02 mole) in dry ether (100 ml). The suspension was stirred overnight and worked up as in (1b) to give a colourless oil (1.4 g 74.4%) which on treatment with ethanolic HCl gave colourless needles of 1-(1-aminomethylcyclohexyl) piperidine dihydrochloride m.p. 256°-7°.
