Yield:394-26-3 75%

Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1: para-fluorobenzaldehyde;2’,4’-dimethoxyacetophenonewith sodium hydroxide in ethanol;lithium hydroxide monohydrate at 20;
Stage #2: with hydrogenchloride in lithium hydroxide monohydrate;

Steps:

2.2 General procedure for synthesis of chalcones (A1-A6)

General procedure: An aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide (10% w/v, 10ml) was added to a solution of benzaldehyde (i-iii) (0.02mol) and acetophenone (a,b) (0.02mol) in ethanol (6ml) [Scheme 1 ]. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight and poured into water (100ml). After neutralization with hydrochloric acid (10% w:v), desired solids were obtained which were recrystallized from water-ethanol mixture.
