Steps:

31.a a. synthesis of (E)-3-chloroacrylic acid
a. synthesis of (E)-3-chloroacrylic acid (0278) (0279) Propargyl acid (140 mg, 2 mmol) was dissolved in anhydrous DMF (1 mL), into which thionyl chloride (286 mg, 2.4 mmol) was added dropwise at a temperature below 30°C. After stirring for 45 min, the reaction mixture was evaporated to remove excessive thionyl chloride, poured into ice-water, extracted with diethyl ether, the organic phase was washed with water, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtrated, concentrated, purified by column chromatography to deliver cis-3-chloroacrylic acid (121 mg, 40% yield) and trans-3-chloroacrylic acid (94 mg, 31% yield). (E)-3-chloroacrylic acid, 1H-NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz, δ ppm): 9.24 (bs, 1H), 7.52 (d, J=13 Hz, 1H), 6.26 (d, J=13 Hz, 1H). (Z)-3-chloroacrylic acid, 1H-NMR (CDCl3, 400 MHz, δ ppm): 9.24 (bs, 1H), 7.49 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 6.23 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H).
