Example A.14 b) Preparation of Intermediate (17b) Intermediate 17a (0.31 g, 3.17 mmol, leq), sodium carbonate (0.34 g, 3.17 mmol,1 eq) and Lawesson’s reagent (1.38 g, 3.17 mmol, 1 eq) in THF (16 mL) was refluxed for3 h. Solvent was removed in vacuo and the crude was partitioned between water (20 mL) and diethyl ether (20 mL). The organic layer was dried over anh. Na2504, filtered and finally evaporated, giving intermediate (17b) as a yellow liquid (0.36 g, yield 99%).
