Reaction Conditions:

with cesium-grafted zagrousian natural asphalt sulfonate in ethanol at 20; for 0.75 h;Catalytic behavior;Claisen-Schmidt Condensation;Reagent/catalyst;Solvent;Temperature;

Steps:

General procedure for Claisen-Schmidt condensation catalyzed by Li-Zagronas or Cs-Zagronas

General procedure: A mixture of ketones (1 mmol), benzaldehyde derivatives (1 mmol) and Li-Zagronas or Cs-Zagronas (15 mg) in ethanol (2.0 mL) was stirred at room temperature until the reaction was completed. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and the catalyst was separated by filtration and cold water (1 mL) was added to the reaction mixture. Finally, the products were obtained through simple filtration and recrystallization with ethanol and water.
