EXAMPLE 3 Example 1 was repeated using 15 g of n-butanol in place of methanol. 6 hours of reaction at 240° C. led to a 65% yield of dibutyltin oxide, having an infrared spectrum identical to a commercial sample. 24 hours at 240° C. led to a 71% yield.
