Dissolve 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (50.00g, 0.3mol) in pyridine 150.0mL, add malonic acid 38.0g (0.36mol) and piperidine (2.55g, 0.03mol) to warm to 100 2h.TCL showed that the reaction was completed.
