Steps:

11.A Step A: 3-ethoxy-4-fluoro-benzaldehyde

Bromoethane (213 pi; 2.85 mmol; 4.00 eq.) was added followed by potassium carbonate (493.2 mg; 3.57 mmol; 5.00 eq.) to a solution of 4-fluoro-3-hydroxybenzaldehyde (100.00 mg; 0.71 mmol; 1.00 eq.) in DMF (2.00 ml). The mixture was heated at 65°C for 3h30 and cooled to rt. Water was added and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (3x). Combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over MgS04, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by chromatography (column Si02 5g, flow rate 15ml/min, gradient from 100% cyclohexane to 80/20 cyclohexane / EtOAc) to give 3-ethoxy-4-fluoro-benzaldehyde (108.70 mg; 91 %.) as a colorless oil.
