Synthesis of 1-(2-methoxypyridin-4-yl) ethanone
To a stirred solution of 1-(2-fluoropyridin-4-yl) ethanone (1.2 g, 0.65 mol) in MeOH (15 mL) was added Sodium methoxide (1.6, 32.5 mmol) at 0° C., after the addition the mixture was stirred at 90° C. for 2 h.
On completion reaction mixture was concentrated solution and reaction mixture was extracted with EtOAc.
The organic layer was washed with water, brine, dried over Na₂SO₄ and evaporated under reduced pressure to give 0.650 gm. (92%) 1-(2-methoxypyridin-4-yl) ethanone as colourless oil
