Example 179A
ethyl 2-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)acetate
To a solution of 2-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)acetic acid (4.3 g, 21.06 mmol) in ethanol (100 mL) was added concentrated H2SO4 (1.123 μL, 0.021 mmol).
The mixture was refluxed overnight.
After cooling to room temperature, the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure.
The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (150 mL), washed with water (60 mL), saturated NaHCO3 (150 mL) and brine (80 mL).
The organic layer was dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated to afford the Example 179A (4.26 g, yield: 93%) as a yellow oil. LC-MS: 233 (M+H).
