To a mixture of 10.6 ml of methylhydrazine, 50 ml of methanol and 8.0 g of sodium hydroxide was added dropwise 15.4 ml of methyl chloroformate under ice-cooling, and the mixture' was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was distilled under reduced pressure (50 to 80°C/15 mmHg) to obtain 13.4 g of N-methyl-N-methoxycarbonylhydrazme . N-methyl-N-methoxycarbonylhydrazme 1H-NMR (CDCl3, TMS) δ (ppm) : 3.11 (3H, s), 3.73 (3H, s), 4.13 (2H, brs) .
