4.1.2 General procedure for synthesis of compounds 2-amino-N-phenyl substituted acetamide (3a-3t, 6a and 6b)
General procedure: To a solution of substituted phenyl acetamide, 2a-2t or 5a or 5b (0.25g, 1.0 equiv) excess of liquid ammonia (NH3) (10mL) was added, and the reaction was heated at 60°C for 6h. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature, after which 30mL of ethyl acetate was added and the organic layer was separated and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo, which provided the free amine of compounds 3a-3t, 6a, and 6b as a solid/oily product with 50-60% yield. Purification of the crude products was done by column chromatography using DCM:MeOH (9.5:0.5) as eluents to afford the aforementioned compounds.
