Isothiochromen-4-one 2.2-dioxide 3
General procedure: A. To the solution NaOR (20 mmol) (R: Et, i-Pr) in polar solvent (EtOH absolute, i-PrOH) (400 mmol) was added sulfone 2 (10 mmol). The mixture was stirred at 80°C for 10h. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. Then was added water (15 ml) and mineral acid to pH<7. The precipitate was filtered off, washed by water (10 ml) and dried. The compound 3 was obtained in 93% yield, m. p. 157-158°C.
