in neat (no solvent, gas phase);LiD produced in an IR abs. cell (stainless steel, ca 1000K) by react. of D2 gas with Li vapor; Li vapor pressure : ca 1 Torr, slow D2 gas flow: ca 0.5 and 1 Torr; LiD detected by IR diode laser spectroscopy;
