Steps:
2-1 A. Urea formation
General procedure: In a typical example, KOCN (5 mmol, 5 eq.) was added to a stirred solution of the amine (1 mmol, 1 eq.) in H20-AcOH (2:1 , 10 ml_, 0.1 M) and stirred at r.t. After 18 h a solid was formed and the reaction mixture was cooled to 0°C, filtered in vacuo. The amorphous solid was washed with cold H20 (2 c 20 ml_). The solid was collected, dried and used directly without further purification.
