2-trifluoromethyl-4-hydroxybenzoic acid (0201-30) (600 mg, 2.91 mmol, 1.0 equiv)Dissolved in 30 ml of methanol,Thionyl chloride (2 ml) was slowly added dropwise.The mixture was stirred at 50 degrees overnight.After the reaction is complete, remove the solvent and add the residue to ice water.The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate, washed with saturated brine twice, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated to give methyl 2-trifluoromethyl-4-hydroxybenzoate (612 mg, yield: 95.6%) as a brown solid
