Add 10mmol of benzoic acid, 100mmol of methanol, and 2mmol of dibromohydantoin into a 50mL three-necked flask, set up a reflux device, and stir for reaction at 60°C for 7h.After the methanol is recovered by rotary evaporation, it is transferred to a separatory funnel, and 20 mL of ethyl acetate is added, washed with 5% sodium carbonate solution, washed with water, dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the solvent is removed under reduced pressure. The yield of methyl benzoate is 100%.
