A.2.22.1 Synthesis of methyl -D3-boronic acid To a solution of trimethyl borate (17.9 mmol) in 20 mL dry THF was added a solution of methyl-D3-magnesium iodide (10.0 mmol, 1 M in Et20) over 10 min at -78°C. After stirring at -78°C for 2 h, 5 mL of 1 M HCI solution was added. The cooling bath was removed and the mixture was allowed to warm to RT. The reaction was quenched with brine, diluted with Et20 and the organic phase was washed with brine, dried over MgS04 and concentrated in vacuo to a third of its volume.
