A.2.22.1 Synthesis of methyl -D3-boronic acid To a solution of trimethyl borate (17.9 mmol) in 20 mL dry THF was added a solution of methyl-D3-magnesium iodide (10.0 mmol, 1 M in Et₂0) over 10 min at -78°C. After stirring at -78°C for 2 h, 5 mL of 1 M HCI solution was added. The cooling bath was removed and the mixture was allowed to warm to RT. The reaction was quenched with brine, diluted with Et₂0 and the organic phase was washed with brine, dried over MgS0₄ and concentrated in vacuo to a third of its volume.
