21.3 g of compound 3, 12.9 g of 4-pyridineboronic acid, 50 ml of toluene, 50 ml of a 2M aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, 2.3 g of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium, were added in the reaction vessel, and refluxed under a nitrogen atmosphere for 18 hours, Cooled to room temperature, 10ml 50% aqueous sodium hydroxide was added, stirred for 15min, the aqueous layer was separated, the aqueous layer was adjusted with acetic acid ρΗ = about 6, solid precipitated, yield obtained 15.3g white solid milrinone (yield 72.5%).
